2023 DYFF Live Stream
The DYFF is a student-led event, created with the aim of recognizing and celebrating youth-made films not only in the Middle East, but all across the world. The festival was founded in 2017 and continued as an annual tradition for years. However, the COVID-19 pandemic put this festival on pause until it was brought back 3 years ago by the former president of the Falcon Film club, Dyani Edgerton. Since she has graduated from the American School of Dubai, no one has stepped up to run the Dubai Youth Film Festival for the past couple of years.
That all changes this year. In 2026, students at ASD are bringing this wonderful event back to encourage youth filmmakers, all with different backgrounds, to come together and embrace the indomitable power of cinema. We encourage many people, even with little to no experience in filmmaking, to submit their projects and give it a shot. No one has said it better than filmmaker Quentin Tarantino himself: "If you truly love cinema with all your heart, and with enough passion, you can't help but make a good movie."
